More than one month later and still very happy to walk Slovenian ground I finally update my EVS-blog. Winter came and with it came the cold. And with the cold came Sabrina having one cold after the other. Tea, handkerchiefs, aspirin, HATSCHIE!, again tea, bed, some more kilos of handkerchiefs, funny voice, no voice, Na Zdravje!, teeeeeeaaaaaaa, Propolis, bed, red nose and tea. This winter I really was sick a lot. What a pity! But I survived! And of course, I have also had my healthy moments. : ) In the middle of December it was time for my 2nd official EVS training: The »On-Arrival-Training« where EVS-volunteers from all over Slovenia come together, to get to know each other, to exchange their first experiences and to rethink about their expectations of EVS. We were around 15 people coming from all over Europe: Hungary, Poland, France, Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Czech Republic, Bulgaria and of course, Germany, as Germans are really everywhere as you can see from my example. : ) We stayed at a very nice »kmetija« (farm) in Goriška Brda, enjoying homemade Slovenian food and wine and a beautiful landscape full of green hills. We had a good time! The next big thing happening in December was... Christmas, of course. : ) All over Koper they put up kitchy lights, blue, white, sparkling and some stars, there was a huge decorated Christmas tree on Koper's main square and in a few streets they were playing kitchy Christmas music; everything to put you in the right mood for the holidays. Well, some people hate it, some love it and I find it quite ok. : ) For Christmas itself I went home to Berlin to celebrate it with my parents. Also the big New Year's party I spent in Berlin together with my friends. To sum up this time back home is easy: SNOW! I was drowning in snow! And every time I wanted to go somewhere to meet my friends I had to spend half an hour sliding to the bus stop which normally takes you only 5 minutes... As I said, cold winter in Koper isn't so bad after all. : ) But, it was really good to be back home. To speak some German again, to sleep in my own bed, to see my family and my friends. A perfect little break from EVS to then start back anew. : )
Now back in Slovenia I have quite some things ahead of me: More video recording and editing (which is going a lot better already!), my birthday is coming up, my Slovene language course will soon come to an end which means FINAL EXAMS! and hopefully no more illness... : )
